Montagne Jeunesse – T-Zone Peel Off

One of the new Skin Heroes range. I was intrigued trying this, as their cucumber peel-off is my favourite, I wondered how this mask would compare. Like the other masks in the range, this is a two stage programme! In half of the sachet, you have a peel off facemask, in the other, a moisturiser.

I know it’s a strong topic at the moment after the campaign from Lush, so it’s worth mentioning that they do not test on animals! BUAV Approved!

The mask smells of tea tree and like every peel off I’ve used, it’s sticky. The smell made my eyes water, more than the cucumber mask does. However on the skin, it’s a lot more cooling and soothing and I felt rather fresh faced. It didn’t dry as quickly either, but you know when it’s time… The mask will dry and then you get the fun of peeling it off! I move my mouth so it loosens, it amuses me. I’m one of those who used to cover her hand in PVA glue in art class and peel it off. And you can also see some of the nasties when you peel it off too.

The moisturiser is thicker than the ones in the other mask, and smoother to apply than my regular tea-tree moisturiser. It would be nice if they did the moisturiser available to buy on it’s own actually. I didn’t find this to work as well for me as the cucmber mask.

Would you guys like a review on it? I had a lot of them, I’ve almost used them up now though. Will have to wait a while though as I’m on a spending ban! So you may see reviews of older/used products of mine. :) I have a lot of new nail polishes even though I’ve not really been painting my nails so much… Will eventually get round to showing you guys!

Would I buy this mask? Over the cucumber one? No way. I didn’t find it really did a whole lot for my skin really other than generally clean it in that way that masks do, but if your T zone needs some TLC, I wouldn’t advise you to steer clear. Not an amazing product like the others, but someone bought me some of these for.. idk, christmas? I would use them up.

Range is £1.49 each online or at ASDA.

Montagne Jeunesse – De-Clog Pores

One of the new Skin Heroes range. Product I was very excited to try this too! I tried it out when I tried the break out mask. Not quite at the exact same time of course. My nose is always quite problematic. Blackheads, huge pores. You know the deal! So I was looking forward to trying this.

You get three pore strips in a pack, and they are all individually wrapped in the packet. Wet nose, apply, standard proceedure! I much preferred their scent to my tea-tree ones.. though I can’t really describe it.

It works. I’d show you the after.. but god it was bloody gross.. You could see that it had really pulled some horrible stuff out of my nose. Brilliant! But gross!

My fella also tried them too. Oh wow, his strip.. gross! His nose is still ‘orrible, but it really did make a difference, you could see it well, especially looking at the strip! Would I buy these? Well.. they’re very good but at £1.49 a packet, that’s like 50p a strip! :/ I still may treat myself.

Superdrug Tea Tree – Cleansing Pads

You probably already know this, but Superdrug have a range of Tea Tre products. I’ve tried a few, they’re ridiculously cheap, especially when they had 3 for 2 deals on them and stuff. I picked these up thinking that they’d be pretty good for me. I think I may have been right!

They are of course, tea tree, they smell like peppermint, but they do have peppermint oils in so go figure.. so for that reason without even reading.. keep them away from your eyes. It kinda stings! Not that I accidentally got my eye or anything! Also, these are not tested on animals and paraben free. Yay! I love the packaging, the pot is awesome. You could use it for something after you’re done! And when you take the lid off, the pads are covered with foil.

One side of the cleansing pad is rough, and the other is smooth. You can probably guess you use the rough side, and then the soft side. Nice and soothing, though the rough side can be a bit scratchy after it’s used a bit. They are quite effective at cleansing the skin, I found. I then usually follow with their tea-tree moisturiser, or cleanser/toner then moisturiser. Well I did.. I have so many products, I’m kind of inconsistent with my regime, this is my more lazy regime I think. I tend to use it more when I’m more poorly and stuck in bed, which is also when I tend to break out the most so quite useful to have tea tree then.

So yeah. I would reccomend this product, especially if you could do with a quick and easy cleansing solution. I think they would be great to pop in your bag when you’re on the go. :D I take them with me when I visit and stay over my parents a long with a black eyeliner and my naked palette, and tea tree moisturiser. Take as few products as possible! Well I do. Pain in the backside carrying a load of stuff and you probably won’t use half of it! I’ve already re-purchased this product!

Available from Superdrug! £2.99 I think!

Montagne Jeunesse – Break-Out Mask

One of the new Skin Heroes range. Product I was very excited to try! The break-out mask is for problem skin.. prone to breakouts! (duh). Like the other masks in the range, this is a two stage programme! In half of the sachet, you have a green facemask, in the other, a moisturiser.

To me, the facemaks smelled a little like liquorice/aniseed, mint and tea tree/witch hazel… I’m not great at identifing scents, but that’s how my nose interepreted it! The mask went more white when it dried, which amused me. I have a good ol’ pizza face right now, so I tried this. I dunno what I was expecting. To be honest, I didn’t find it did anything literally for me, but it was a first time use. I think we need to make it a once a week date. I did find using it actually broke me out in lots of tiny bumpy spots (but not white heads) but I feel it may have been the mask drawing it more to the surface, get the rubbish out of my skin.. while horrible at the moment, I rather it detox like that! My skin did feel softer and cleaner afterwards though. I will be using more again at the weekend again and hopefully my skin will see improvement. I have a good feeling about it.

The moisturiser smells minty. Witch hazel and peppermint? It resembles my usual moisturiser actually, but with a nicer consistency. It went a long way, I got 2 uses and then another less lavish use out of the amount in the sachet. Brilliant! It left me feeling refreshed and fresh-faced. Important to me. My face didn’t feel sticky or weighed down.

So, unsure how well it worked in regards to helping my break-out, but still felt quite nice.

Witch – Oil Control Foaming Face Wash

Oil Control Foaming Facewash from Witch has become my newest MUST HAVE product. My skin doesn’t make up its mind what type it wants to be, it goes through phases of being nice and normal, dry, or so oily you could grease a baking tray. Generally, combination. Right now though, my skin is quite oily and has been causing me to break out. This is where this gem comes in.

I was in Tesco, searching for a new product to help me with this problem I’ve been having. I’ve been wanting to try Witch for a while, it’s only the past few months I’ve really started caring about my skin as it used to be very good. First thing I saw, Oil Control. I knew that was the kind of thing I wanted! Plus it was also on sale for £2 something as opposed to £4 something. Sorry, can’t remember the exact price!

Noticeable results from the first use? Most definatley. Oily skin, be gone! Seriously, it has made my skin so much smoother, less oily, and not to mention this is foam so highly amusing and rather fun. This product does exactly what it says on the tin. My skin is so much less oily now and I’m not breaking out any more or anything! Doesn’t irritate or dry out my skin either like a lot of face washes end up doing. Yay! Can’t believe I didn’t discover it until now!

Will I repurchase this? Hell yes! Would I recommend it? Hell yes, again! Officially my new favourite facewash!

Montagne Jeunesse – Very Berry

Montagne Jeunesse have released their new Very Berry facemask! When they contacted me, I jumped at the chance to try this out! Montagne Jeunesse were the first brand of face mask I ever tried and have been a firm favourite ever since! Just hearing about their latest product, packed with pressed blueberries and crushed cranberries, it made my mouth water.

What didn’t help with the whole drooling scenario, was the scent of it. On opening the mask and squeezing it out, the smell was so divine, indulgent, it was so tempting to eat… I’m sure that wouldn’t be the best idea though, also, in the most gorgeous shade of lilac, I couldn’t wait to try it out on my face!

Oh gosh, I can’t say it enough. The scent! So nice! I applied the mask to my pre-cleansed skin, the usual routine, unlike most face mask (even Montagne Jeunesse) my skin didn’t tingle or anything like it usually does. It was quite soothing. I also seemed to be able to get more out of the sachet then I usually can with face masks. Enough for a generous helping applied to both my face and neck. Sit back, relax!

I couldn’t stop sniffing, the smell is so indulgent! Yum! (I know, I know, the scent, I keep saying!) The masque didn’t dry quite like they usually do, and my face didn’t look as different as it does upon taking it off, but it did, however, feel different. It felt cleaner (not that my face was dirty!), fresher (more than face masks usually make it feel!), nice and smooth, hydrated (usually my face feels more dried out), and generally kind of renewed. I was a little sad that I couldn’t see much of a difference though.

Would I purchase this mask and recommend it? Yes, yes I would. It’s perfect for that sunday afternoon treat, take a little time out for yourself and have a bit of a pamper!

Very Berry costs £1.01 and is available in stores like Boots, ASDA, Savers, Superdrug and more, and of course, online at montagnejeunesse.com

Montagne Jeunesse – Eye Rescue

I said in a previous post that my other half and I would be posting about Montagne Jeunesse newly released products for men. They released 5 new products for men. We got these new products and the boyfriend and I decided to put them through their paces and try them out. We’re starting with Eye Rescue. This is apparently meant to help puffy eyes and dark circles. These products are suitable for vegetarians and use natural ingredients! Mineral rich sea algae! Yum!

Montagne Jeunesse recommend you chill this product in the fridge before use. So we did that. I’m sad to be writing such a negative review on this product.

Opening the packet, you have a little plastic doo-dah with the eye masks in. We were wondering why the packet felt funny. We kinda squeezed at it a bit so it may have affected the product, I say this now because it may have affected the outcome. However, I don’t see why it should, really.

We had a little problem… no idea which way these went on! We tried both ways. They feel kind of slimy. But I kind of guessed they would.

Applying the eye masks was a bit of a faff. They didn’t particularly want to stick very well at all. Robbie said they felt they were falling off and didn’t feel secure at all. We had chilled them in the fridge before hand like it recommends. Robbie lay back with them resting on his face. He didn’t really like it. He didn’t want to talk or anything, fear of them sliding off. Weird when you just have something around your eyes!

When the time was up, we took them off. Very easy task. Robbie claimed his eyes were irritated afterwards. He has rather sensitive eyes, however. I also decided to try these out, but my eyes also itched a little afterwards too. It didn’t bother me anywhere near as much as it did Robbie though.

Here’s before and after. You can see, there’s not really much of a difference to his eyes at all. If you can spot any. But I think this is something you might need to try out on a regular basis. Robbie didn’t enjoy the experience. I found it relaxing but it didn’t really do anything for me either unfortunately. I’m quite sad because I was expecting a lot more from this product but you can really expect a miracle. I think it’s one of those “works for some” products! Maybe it’ll work for you. But would he recommend it? He says no, he would not.

Eye Rescue costs £1.99 and is available online or in stores.

FOTD – I need more practice.

Okay, this is my second FOTD here. If you want to see the first, its here.

Unfortunatley, the close up with my eyes closed, all the photos came out blurry so I only have a couple for you here… Sorry! I really need more practice at taking photos of myself!

To create this look, I used;

If you were wondering, these are the colours I used from the palette!

Definitely love this palette! So there is me trying to be brave and post my second FOTD. I hope you like it. I am still new to this whole experimenting with eye shadows thing and don’t have too many good tools for the job, but still, practice aye? I don’t think it’s too bad for someone who used max of two colours 6 months ago. Haha.
